PhotiteMateria notes: FFXIV's Oceanian data centre this month
A rough evening on the network, an Oceania leaderboard on the way and one travel limit that hasn't changed.
Materia is Final Fantasy XIV's Oceanian data centre. Three recent Lodestone posts are worth knowing about if you play there.
On 9 October, Square Enix reported unstable connections on some internet routes from 3:35 to 4:55 am PDT. That's 8:35 to 9:55 pm AEST in Brisbane. Players had trouble logging in to the Oceanian worlds, staying connected and moving data. Home World Transfer and Data Center Travel for the Oceanian worlds were paused, then resumed at about 5:03 am PDT.
Crucible of the Unbroken Ranking Season 1 starts on Sunday 25 October at 10:00 pm PDT, which is 3:00 pm on Monday 26 October in Brisbane. The Lodestone says rankings are counted per physical data centre, so Oceania gets its own board, and scores have to be set on your Home World.
One thing hasn't changed. The official Data Center Travel guide still lists travel from Materia as 'Currently unavailable'. Separately, Square Enix says same-region player matching starts on the Japan data center and will come to other data centers once it's running stably there.
