EA published a memo to staff on 21 October from studios chief Cam Weber and chief operating officer David Tinson. It calls Battlefield 6 "a great success" and says that, alongside future Battlefield games, EA will bring Respawn and DICE together "to collaborate on a future project". EA hasn't named that project. Some outlets have reported a title from unnamed sources, but EA hasn't confirmed it.

EA also says it will keep investing heavily in Apex Legends over the next few years, with new multiplayer modes and other new experiences.

BioWare is closing. EA says a small BioWare team was doing early development on Mass Effect and that it won't move forward with that work, so it's closing the studio and its Edmonton workspace. BioWare's own post says the studio is closing and early development on the next Mass Effect is ending.

Elsewhere in the memo, Marvel's Iron Man and the next Star Wars Jedi game carry on. The Sims' Project Lotus is paused so the team can focus on Project Evergreen, and skate. moves to a smaller team. EA Sports has two new projects coming: Project Gridiron, an open-world American football game, and a return for Fight Night, which is in pre-production.

EA's memo doesn't give a job number. Variety reports that the restructure cuts about 3% of EA's workforce, which it puts at around 400 people.
