Sega and RGG Studio revealed Lionel Rafale for Virtua Fighter Crossroads in an announcement trailer on the official Virtua Fighter YouTube channel on 29 Oct. Sega's description calls him "a mysterious young martial artist" who has arrived in the city of Vilasapara and is skilled enough to outclass Cielo in a street fight. Gematsu reported the reveal.
EventHubs points out that the name echoes Lion Rafale from Virtua Fighter 2, and reads the trailer as hinting that Lionel is Lion's son. It says Lionel uses a praying mantis style, like Lion. Sega hasn't said how the two are connected.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads is due in 2027 as of 30 Oct, and platforms haven't been announced.
