Discord says messages from public channels in Discoverable Servers may start appearing on Server Web Pages and in web search from mid-December, in a blog post on 27 Oct. Discoverable Servers are the public communities listed in Server Discovery, with at least 1,000 members. Discord says there are more than 63,000 of them.
From 16 Nov every Discoverable Server will get a Server Web Page, which can show automated summaries of public channels. Usernames and avatars won't be shown, Discord says, and messages sent before mid-December aren't included. Private servers and direct messages aren't affected.
Admins can opt channels out now in Server Settings, under Web Presence, and users can turn it off in User Settings, under Data and Privacy. Discord says that in Australia, the EU, the UK, Canada, Brazil and South Korea the user setting is off by default, so messages only appear if members turn it on. Dexerto also reported the change.
