Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda series at Nintendo, received the insignia of Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres at France's Ministry of Culture in Paris on 23 Oct, Famitsu and Kotaku report.

France first announced the honour in November 2023, Famitsu says, but no ceremony date had been set until now. The order recognises work in the arts and literature. Famitsu notes that Shigeru Miyamoto received it in 2006.

Famitsu reports that Aonuma ended his speech in French, thanking his wife, who was in the room. The full remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on 5 Nov, Nintendo's store page shows.
