Microsoft has extended the consultation period over the future of Arkane Lyon by one month, it said in a statement to PC Gamer on 26 Oct. It says it is exploring options "including finding a partner to support the studio through the development work still ahead". The studio is making Marvel's Blade.

Last week French newspaper Le Monde reported that the studio had until 13 Nov to find a buyer, VGC says, and VGC reports the extension moves that to mid-December. Under France's Florange law, a company with more than 1,000 staff must look for a buyer before it closes a site. IGN says 217 jobs are at risk.

Arkane Lyon made Dishonored 2 and Deathloop. Marvel's Blade was announced at The Game Awards in December 2023 and hasn't been shown since. IGN says it understands the game was on track for a reveal early next year and a release in late 2027. Microsoft hasn't given a date.
