DLC release ·

Charting the Unknown, the expansion for Pearl Abyss's open-world action game Crimson Desert, comes out on 29 Oct, 3pm PT (30 Oct, 8am AEST), on Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox and the Epic Games Store. Pearl Abyss's release time map lists 9am for Sydney, which is daylight saving time. On PS5 you can pre-download it 24 hours early. A base-game patch comes out at the same time, and Pearl Abyss says to install it before you play.
The DLC adds three new storylines, one each for Kliff, Oongka and Damiane. They start from the Journal menu once you have finished the main story, as IGN also reports. A separate ocean storyline opens after the main story's Howling Hill quest.
Pearl Abyss says you can dive and explore underwater ruins, build or buy your own ship, and form romances that can end in marriage. There is also an upgraded housing system for building a house from the ground up, and three castles you can claim after the main story.
