God of War Laufey has moved from 16 Feb 2027 to 20 May 2027 on PS5, Santa Monica Studio said on its official X account on 4 Nov, as reported by The Verge, Kotaku, VGC and Engadget. The studio said the team is "putting in the finishing touches and pushing the game to its fullest potential".

Laufey is the next mainline God of War game. It stars Faye, Kratos's wife, who wakes up after her own funeral in the Everywhen, an afterlife where gods from different mythologies fight for power. It was revealed at PlayStation's State of Play on 2 Jun with about 20 minutes of gameplay.

Santa Monica Studio hasn't given a launch time or an Australian price yet, so local players should expect the usual midnight local launch on PS5 unless Sony says otherwise. The move keeps it clear of a crowded early 2027.

For the other giant release Australians are planning around, see GTA 6's pre-load times and file size.
