AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Upscaling 4.1.2 is available to Xbox developers in the October 2026 GDK, Microsoft said on 4 Nov, with AMD's GPUOpen post confirming the same drop for Series X|S and ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. It is the first ML-based FSR upscaler on the consoles' RDNA 2 GPUs.

Microsoft's sample includes Full and Lite INT8 models. On Series X, Microsoft lists Lite at 1.29 ms for 1440p and 2.75 ms for 4K, and Full at 1.95 ms and 3.86 ms. On Series S, Lite is 1.9 ms at 1080p and 3.4 ms at 1440p; Full is 2.9 ms and 5.2 ms. The Verge notes that 5.2 ms is enough to pull a 60 fps budget toward 45 fps if a title is already tight, so developers will pick per game.

Registered Xbox developers get AMD-signed binaries through the GDK and the same FSR SDK API used on Windows. No retail game ships with it automatically: players only see FSR 4 once a studio integrates it. Australian Series S owners should watch for titles that advertise the Lite path.

Photite earlier covered FSR 4.1 on the ROG Xbox Ally preview driver.
