Phoenix Cyclops joins Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on 2 Nov

Phoenix Cyclops, the first DLC character in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' Year 1 Pass, arrives on 2 Nov, Arc System Works producer Takeshi Yamanaka says on the PlayStation Blog. He's voiced by Ray Chase, and Cyclops' Classic and Legacy costumes come out the same day.

Arc System Works describes him as an all-rounder who uses Optic Blasts at long and close range, plus wide fire attacks that cover a lot of the screen. Using Optic Blasts builds Solar Shards. With four, Cyclops turns into Dark Phoenix for a big temporary power boost, but it drains his health. The idea comes from the Avengers vs. X-Men comics, where Cyclops became one of the Phoenix Five.

Yamanaka says the team picked the Phoenix version to make him feel different from his earlier fighting game appearances, and added the classic costumes for fans who want his usual look. Marvel Tokon is on PS5 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, Gematsu reports. A release time hasn't been announced.
