Hardcore Worlds open ·
Name release begins ·
Old School RuneScape's Hardcore Worlds open on 4 Nov, 3am PT (4 Nov, 9pm AEST), Jagex says in its 3 Nov game update post. They arrive by hotfix, so there is no extra downtime, and players can already progress to Death's Office with Death's Delegate from Tutorial Island.
Jagex's first name release in nearly 10 years starts on 5 Nov, 3am PT (5 Nov, 9pm AEST). Released names come from abandoned characters inactive for at least 2 years that were also banned, never members, or only paid with bonds that ended at least 5 years ago. Claiming one needs membership, and after player feedback Jagex raised the skill total needed from 500 to 800 in Old School and 900 in RuneScape.
The same update kicked off Quest Month with two surprise quests and promises at least one new quest every week of November. Older quests that gave no XP now do, with rewards claimable from Perdu or the Lumbridge Guide.
On the RuneScape 3 side, Photite covered the final Double XP before the microtransaction send-off on 3 Nov.
