Final Fantasy XIV's same-region player matching, already used on the Japan data centres, reaches the North American and European data centres with Patch 7.58 on Tuesday 10 Nov, Square Enix says on the Lodestone (posted 1 Nov, 11:47pm PT, 2 Nov 5:47pm AEST). Matching and recruitment now stop at your logical data centre. After the patch they will span the whole physical data centre.
Duty Finder, Party Finder, Crystalline Conflict ranked, cross-world linkshells, PvP teams and fellowships all widen to the region, as do tells, party invites and Free Company chat. Linkshells, retainers, housing and Market Board listings stay on your Home World. Visit Another World Server will let you hop between logical data centres in the same region without Data Center Travel.
Square Enix says Data Center Travel will still let NA and EU players travel to the Oceania data centre. The post does not mention any change for Oceania, which has a single logical data centre, Materia. Patch 7.58 maintenance is set to last 24 hours, with the schedule still to come (as of 4 Nov).
